Terms of use
Last updated: 5 October 2026
These terms govern your use of the SnapTable iPhone app and the website snaptable.alvarorgz.com. By creating an account or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use SnapTable. The Portuguese version is the primary one.
1. Who provides the service
SnapTable is published by its publisher, established in Spain (“we”). Contact: snaptable@alvarorgz.com. See also the Legal notice and the Privacy policy.
2. What SnapTable is
An app for students that turns a photo of your timetable into your week, Home Screen widgets, a digital student card and free time shared with friends, meetup invitations with chat and, for Nova SBE accounts, the cafeteria menu. SnapTable is currently free and has no in-app purchases or advertising. There is no payment and no commercial activity.
3. Licence
We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes, in accordance with these terms and the usage rules in the Apple App Store terms. You may not copy, modify, decompile, resell or distribute the app, or try to access other people’s data or bypass security measures.
Apple Standard EULA. These terms supplement Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Apple Standard EULA”), which also applies. If they conflict regarding the licence of the app, Apple’s agreement prevails. You can read it at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.
4. Account and access
- To use SnapTable you must create an account with your email. We sign you in with a 6-digit code sent to that email, with no password.
- For now, registration is limited to Nova SBE students (@novasbe.pt emails) and test accounts we authorise. We may widen or restrict access.
- You must be at least 13 and a student. Make sure the data you provide is true.
- You are responsible for keeping access to your email and for everything that happens in your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (see Delete account and data).
5. Acceptable conduct and user content
You can create content in SnapTable: name, profile photo, timetable, events, friend invitations, meetups (place and note) and chat messages, which other users you are connected with can see. You are responsible for that content and state you have the right to use it. You must not:
- use another person’s name or photo, or impersonate them;
- post illegal, offensive, discriminatory, hateful, sexually explicit or violent content, or content that encourages self-harm;
- harass, threaten or stalk other people, or send unsolicited invitations or messages;
- upload photos of third parties without permission, or other people’s personal data;
- use the app for spam, to harvest other users’ data or to overload the service (for example, automating scans or invitations);
- try to access accounts, data or systems that are not yours.
We do not review content beforehand, but we may remove it and act when we become aware of a violation.
6. Reporting and blocking
You only see, and are seen by, people who accepted a friendship with you. You can decline or cancel a request, remove a friend at any time (they stop seeing your schedule and you theirs) and turn on “Pause sharing” to stop sharing your schedule with everyone.
- Block: from a friend’s profile, a request, the friends list or a meetup chat, and also by email in Profile › “Blocked users” (even if the person has no account yet). Someone you block can no longer send you friend requests, any existing friendship is removed and they are not told. You can unblock whenever you like. If you share a meetup, you still see that person’s messages in the chat, with a notice that you blocked them.
- Report: a person, or a specific message in a meetup chat, giving the reason (spam, harassment or bullying, inappropriate content, impersonation, other) and, if you wish, a description. The reported person is not told who reported them. There is a daily limit of reports per user, to prevent abuse.
- By email: you can also report to snaptable@alvarorgz.com, with the person’s name or email and a description.
We review reports as quickly as possible and, if we confirm a violation, remove the content and/or suspend the account.
7. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or delete an account, with notice where possible, if you breach these terms, if the law requires it, or if the account poses a risk to others or to the service. We may also change or discontinue SnapTable; if we discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice.
8. Scanning and accuracy
Timetable reading is done by artificial intelligence and may contain errors. Always check classes, times and rooms, and use the app’s review to fix anything wrong. Your university’s official timetable prevails. We are not liable for missed or late classes or losses caused by misread or outdated data, or by widgets or reminders that do not arrive on time (they depend on iOS, the device and the connection).
9. Intellectual property
The app, the SnapTable name and logo, the design and the code belong to us or are licensed to us. The content you create remains yours: you only grant us the licence needed to store, process and show it to the people you choose, in order to provide the service.
10. Limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is”, without guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or loss of data, or for other users’ content. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that the law does not allow to be excluded (for example for wilful misconduct or gross negligence) or the mandatory rights you have as a consumer in your country of residence.
11. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for SnapTable or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support (support is ours: Support). If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which will refund the purchase price, if any; to the extent permitted, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Claims relating to the app (product, legal requirements, consumer protection, intellectual property) are ours, not Apple’s. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You state that you are not located in a country subject to a US embargo or on a list of prohibited parties, and that you comply with applicable third-party terms.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Spanish law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of the country where you habitually live (in Portugal, Portuguese law). As a consumer, you can bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. For relevant changes we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect; if you keep using SnapTable afterwards, you accept the new version. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
